F
irst of all, thank you for the distinguish honor of being selected to such a prestigious
group of professionals.
I have been in the
coaching profession for 40 years and have had the opportunity to work with a lot of very talented
basketball players throughout the years. I decided in the seventh grade that I wanted to
become a basketball coach and have pursued my DREAM in this profession. My passion for
coaching basketball has been endless, and I try to convey this to the athletes I have had the
opportunity to coach. I have had the total support of my family throughout my career, and the
hardest part of this profession is you have to go where the jobs are. And sometimes they are not
close to your family.
Coaching women's basketball is not what we see today with sellout crowds, budgets for
scholarships, travel, etc. I have been one of the pioneers in making sure that young ladies
today have the opportunity to receive an education, participated in sports in high school and
college and if they choose, go into the WNBA if they want. My job throughout the years of
coaching and administration of sports has been to lead, direct and motivate people to do their very
best and to Chase their Dreams. My ultimate goal for the ATLANTA DREAM and for the city of
Atlanta is to win WNBA Championship.
