Elisabeth L. Marchant
Elisabeth L. Marchant is the publisher of
Atlanta Woman. Marchant, who helped launch
Atlanta Woman in 2002 and became its first publisher, has returned to the
position to continue the magazine's success.
A passionate supporter of the magazine over the years, Marchant is known throughout the
region as a top publishing executive with more than a decade of experience as an industry leader.
For the past few years she has served as executive director for the corporate and nonprofit
division of Multicast Media Networks, which specializes in broadband media.
Marchant began her career with Marchant's Inc., a second-generation, family-owned business
specializing in commercial construction. After 20 years in the business, she stepped out on her own
to launch b3 Magazine, a national publication about technology and geared toward C-level
executives; it also produced 15 executive conferences throughout the United States. In 2000,
Marchant joined The Leader Publishing Group, where she served as publisher of
Business to Business , launched
Atlanta Woman and eventually was named president and CEO of the company.
Marchant has received numerous community honors, including the YMCA's Academy of Women
Achievers, the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Top 10 Women in Business and is a member of the 2004
class of Leadership Atlanta. She is also deeply involved throughout the Atlanta community, having
served on boards for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Henry W. Grady Hospital Foundation, as
well as the board of governors of The Buckhead Club and the Chair's Council of the Atlanta Women's
Foundation.
Mary Welch
Mary Welch is the editor-in-chief of
Atlanta Woman. Previously, she worked with Leader Publishing in many
capacities, including editor of
Business to Business magazine and
Catalyst magazine, which are now both part of Atlanta Business Media. As
editor of
Business to Business, she assigned, edited and conceptualized a series that
was awarded Silver in the 2005 GAMMA Awards for Best Series. Welch was a reporter for the
Atlanta Business Chronicle for eight years and freelanced for a number of
publications including Glamour, Advertising Age, South, Georgia Trend and Oz. From 2000 to 2003,
she served as vice president of media relations for Bank of America, during which time she also
authored Forever Green: A History and Hope of the American Forest with Chuck Leavell. Leavell is
also a keyboardist for the Rolling Stones.
Nicole D. Smith
Nicole D. Smith is the associate editor of
Atlanta Woman . She previously worked at CNN in Atlanta, where she produced news
stories that consistently ranked No. 1 in viewers on both CNN.com and Yahoo.com. Smith successfully
sought and reported unique tales of extraordinary people in the national and global communities,
leading to her 2007 Bronze Telly Award for her news feature,
Judge Tackles Poverty, and she has also received the 2008
Broadcast Media Award for Television from the International Reading Association. Smith has written,
produced and reported on topics that range from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City to a
96-year-old high school student and a 19-year-old self-made millionaire. Smith writes for and

Bonnie Chapman
Bonnie Chapman is the sales manager for
Atlanta Woman . She has a broad range of radio sales experience, acting
as the national sales manager for CBS Radio's 92.9dave-fm, general sales manager for WTSH-FM
and senior account executive for ABC Radio's WKHX-FM. Prior to that, she was a major
executive for Interep Radio, working as VP/Sales for ABC Radio and CBS Radio, as well as Manager
for Allied & Major Market Radio. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she is a former
past president of the Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club and currently serves as an active
fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
