HR 1226, Transportation Funding

Addressing the state's transportation funding shortfall is no doubt a priority issue for the Metro region. One idea being considered by lawmakers is a statewide penny sales tax. 90 percent of the revenue collected in each region of the state would be spent only on projects within that region, while the remaining 10 percent would be spent on statewide projects. Did You Know It’s Legal to...

Obtain a driver’s license or license plate without required proof of citizenship.

Senate Bill 25 (SB 25) would change rules regarding the issuance of license plates, the surrendering of prior licenses, compensation of tag agents and more. These changes would be put into affect so that proof of citizenship would be required to obtain a motor vehicle tag or driver’s license.
